Natural cosmetics is a new territory for you? This is what you need to know!

What can I expect when I use natural cosmetics for the first time?

Many people find the switch to natural skin care very pleasant from the very beginning.

Leaving out chemicals in your own skin care is like leaving out processed foods in your diet. The body first goes through a kind of detoxification process to eliminate the toxins present in the old products. Some people feel this, but most do not. Nevertheless, I recommend to start slowly with the change. Too fast switching can lead to slight irritation. The good thing is that you can still use up the existing “old” products.

The good thing about every change to natural skin care products is that the skin always returns to its natural balance. Especially if you simplify your skin care routine. Because often less can also be more.

Why is the consistency of the products changing?

Since it is a 100% natural product, each material reacts differently to temperatures. Shea butter, for example, has a melting point between 32 and 42 degrees, while coconut oil has a melting point of 25 degrees. Almond oil is always in a liquid state. It is therefore a normal process that the consistency of the products changes depending on the temperature. If the product is too hard, it can be put in a warm place, for example a radiator. If it is too soft/liquid, place it in a cool place. The consistency has no influence on the quality of the product.

It is also completely normal that there are slight differences in consistency, colour and smell between batches as we deliberately produce by hand.

How should I store my products?

Since we do not use any chemicals or preservatives in our recipes and the products are only made from natural ingredients, there are a few simple rules to follow just like fresh foods.

Try to protect the products from heat and direct sunlight. Imagine an orange or a banana in summer when they lie on a sunny windowsill, ripen quickly and then start to rot. That’s the way it is with the SHEA YEAH products – admittedly a little less fast. By keeping your products in a cool, dark place, they stay fresh longer, the bathroom shelf does its job perfectly.

What else do I have to watch out for?

In general it should be said that a small allergy test should be carried out on the underside of the forearm before use. This is done by applying a small amount of the product to the forearm. Afterwards wait a few hours and observe whether redness or other irritations occur.

If you have any questions or if there is any uncertainty in the use of our products, please do not hesitate to contact us. And now, let’s try it.
