SHEA YEAH butter comes from the north of Ghana. The nuts are collected almost on the border with Burkina Faso, then taken to the next larger town, Tamale, where they are processed into shea butter in the traditional way in the women's cooperative. You can find out more about the background here .

Product sample regarding fragrance: Unrefined shea butter (many advantages for the skin compared to the fragrance-free refined variant!) has a slightly earthy, tart, smoky nutty fragrance, which is created by roasting the nuts. Shea butter is a nutrient-rich butter packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It nourishes, protects and repairs dry, sensitive, damaged and mature skin. An uncomplicated all-rounder for all skin types - whether used pure, in blends or in your own DIY mixer.

Like all natural fats and oils, e.g. cold-pressed olive oil, unrefined shea butter also has a natural scent of its own. This is a sign of quality and can vary slightly depending on the year and harvest. Basically, shea has a characteristic earthy, nutty, tart and slightly roasted smell (roasting of the nuts in one production step). The gentle production process that we follow preserves the natural color, fragrance and thus the valuable ingredients. This has many benefits for our skin. The fragrance can be beautifully integrated into the formulation of natural cosmetic recipes, depending on the percentage of shea butter in the recipe.
