FAQ

Unrefined shea butter is a nutrient-rich plant butter with vitamins A and C and natural antioxidants. It is a rich nutrient for the skin, helps it to retain moisture, repairs and nourishes it, protects it and maintains its healthy glow. Due to its many positive properties, it is known as an all-rounder for all skin types and can be used from head to toe. It is also suitable for children and pregnant women and can be used pure, in ready-made cosmetic blends (see our product range) or as a raw material for making your own cosmetics (see our DIY blog).

Shea butter can act as the main ingredient and therefore the main active ingredient in a recipe, e.g. in a body butter or ointment. However, it can also be used to provide consistency, for example in a homemade deodorant recipe, and the great thing is that it always has great properties for the skin and you can vary the percentage in the recipe as you wish.

Our shea butter is always unrefined. In other words, it is carefully and traditionally produced and therefore full of vitamins and valuable ingredients. In this article, you can find out all about the difference between refined and unrefined shea butter - we always recommend unrefined shea butter for all nature lovers, it's a real miracle cure!

That is true! But there are big differences in scent depending on the quality. The fact is that unrefined shea butter has a characteristic smell due to the traditional production process. It is interesting to note that even the best quality shea butter has a slightly different scent depending on the year of harvest, which can generally be described as slightly smoky, nutty and earthy. The slightly smoky scent comes from the fact that the nuts are roasted for natural extraction. There are also shea butters that smell very unpleasant, which can indicate poor quality (e.g. unclean water during production, incorrect storage, etc.). It is therefore always advisable to buy tested shea butter! In DIY recipes, I personally find it very nice that with a fine nose you can match the shea scent with other raw materials and fragrances and thus create very harmonious combinations.
