What is the difference to body or belly butter?

This pure shea butter is the pure raw material “shea butter”. In other words, the product contains only 1 ingredient: shea butter! Very popular with extremely sensitive skin. It should be noted that it is hard in consistency, meaning that it takes a little more patience to apply because it takes longer for the butter to melt on the skin.

Belly butter, on the other hand, has a softer consistency. In addition to shea butter, it also contains plant oils and herbs, which contain additional great active ingredients for the skin. It is also suitable for sensitive skin as it is fragrance-free.

Can I use shea butter on my face?

Yes, it can be used on the face. However, if you want more and higher doses of active ingredients, we recommend our certified organic face care, which we have developed specifically for the face and which has a slightly lighter texture. #healthyaging

Can I use shea butter if I am pregnant?

This product as well as the Belly Butter (specially developed for pregnant women) is safe for pregnant women. It is also fragrance-free, which is important if you are pregnant. Is shea butter suitable for sensitive skin, neurodermatitis or rosacea?

The past few years have shown that many customers with neurodermatitis and rosacea really appreciate our product range. Preferably the unscented products, such as pure shea butter or Body Butter Belly Butter and Face Balm.

Our skin care products contain only a few, carefully selected ingredients that can be helpful for neurodermatitis, rosacea and similar conditions thanks to their soothing, moisturizing and lipid-replenishing effect.

However, they were developed for sensitive skin and not specifically for rosacea or neurodermatitis. As skin conditions often require adapted, medically supervised care, we recommend discussing this with a specialist in advance.

Why is this shea butter hard, how do I use it?

This shea butter is natural, unrefined shea butter. In other words, shea butter in its raw form. It contains no water, which has many benefits for the skin and the environment. It is very easy to use: take a generous fingertip/fingernail of the product from the tin and rub it between your palms. You will quickly see that it melts into a beautiful golden oil. You can then apply it, preferably to damp skin.

What does this unrefined shea butter smell like?

Unrefined shea butter always has a characteristic smell due to the gentle traditional production process. Otherwise, you can assume that it has been further processed. The scent varies depending on the processing, sometimes also depending on the year of harvest. Basically, the scent can be described as slightly smoky, nutty and earthy. Our shea butter smells rather subtle compared to others on the market. The slightly smoky scent comes from the fact that the nuts are roasted for the natural extraction. There are also shea butters that smell very unpleasant, which can indicate poor quality (e.g. unclean water during production, incorrect storage, etc.). At SHEA YEAH we have precise control instruments in production in Ghana and the shea butter is subsequently tested by various bodies.
