Eignet sich Sheabutter für die Pflege von empfindlicher Haut?

Is shea butter suitable for the care of sensitive skin?

Some people are naturally more sensitive than others. This is also the case when it comes to skin. I can personally tell you a thing or two about it: I only use a few carefully selected ingredients for my skin.

Some people are naturally more sensitive than others. This is also the case when it comes to skin. I can personally tell you a thing or two about it: I only use a few carefully selected ingredients for my skin. This is the only way I can keep my sensitive skin in its natural balance. This is also the origin of my passion for formulating natural cosmetics without water, actually the beginning of my beauty brand SHEA YEAH. So being ‘sensitive’ does have its advantages 🙂

The boundaries between dry and sensitive skin are often blurred. So it's worth checking out our tips for dry skin.

What to do for sensitive skin?

  • Less is more: avoid products with lots of ingredients
  • Use gentle, water-free cosmetics
  • Unscented first! Products without essential oils or fragrances are advisable
  • Strong skin barrier: moisturise and hydrate your skin
  • Always use sun protection

These are signs that you have sensitive skin

  • Dry, flaky skin
  • Reddening of the skin when applying products or cleansing the face
  • Reddened skin after eating spicy food or drinking alcohol
  • Tendency to allergies

And, do you have sensitive skin like me? Then you've come to the right place and now you know how you can support your skin health. Shea butter is good for sensitive, dry or mature skin or even uncomplicated normal skin.

‘In our formulas, the essential oils are dosed very low or omitted completely. For example, the lavender-scented body butter or unscented body butter (belly butter) is a real treat for sensitive skin.’

How is shea butter suitable for the care of sensitive skin?

If you compare the origin of shea butter with sensitive skin, they have one thing in common: the shea fruit wraps its core protectively with pulp and skin. Just as the shea kernel is protected, sensitive skin also needs enveloping protection. This is necessary to support the functions of the skin's natural acid mantle.

Mild skin care is very important for sensitive skin. Shea butter is known to be very skin-friendly and mild - a true all-rounder. In addition to shea butter, soothing oils such as almond oil and plants such as mallow or marigold are added to SHEA YEAH. All of these natural cosmetic blends are ideal for sensitive skin.
